Alibaba build a feature that can suggest copy for your products

Similar technology exists for english / latin languages, but not as advanced as this:

Tapping the huge pool of content on Alibaba’s e-commerce sites Tmall and Taobao, the AI copywriter uses deep learning and natural language processing technologies learn from millions of top-quality existing samples to generate copy for products. Brands and advertisers can insert a link to any product page, and click the “Produce Smart Copy” button to see multiple copy ideas.

Commercialization of facial recognition in China almost sounds like a good idea

Someone just tweeted about this feature in WeChat that sounds almost as appealing as it is incredibly scary. Here’s how it works:

  1. Upload your selfie to WeChat official account
  2. Run Shanghai half-marathon
  3. Within hours get back photos of yourself (from thousands of pictures made by freelance photographer)
  4. Pay $1 to buy unwatermarked images
