By using Javascript APIs two researchers have shown that they can identify computers beyond browsers. This means that switching browsers, surfing in incognito modus or even using a different user account on your computer has no effect.

It is no surprise this is possible and in fact the technique is dead simple. But what is worrying is that most likely ad-tech companies have been using this technique already for years.
